Backpacks and Busses and Soccer… Oh My! Youth Support Brought to You by Port of Subs!
While we are always serving up something delicious, the sub doesn’t stop at tasty food! In a final round of happy news recaps, we share our latest summer efforts of extensive community involvement:
- All children need a strong start at the beginning of a new school year. Supporting this belief wholeheartedly, Port of Subs® Northern NV Co-op conducted its annual fundraiser in support of the Salvation Army Backpack Program, which provides school supplies and backpacks to local children in need ahead of the new school year. The fundraiser earned $5,000 worth of supplies, which were given to children from low-income families. Supporting children’s education creates a brighter future for everyone, and we are grateful for all our young scholars!
- Our support for our youth and education continues on to Arizona, where Arizona Port of Subs® Co-op hopped on board as a prominent sponsor and supplied volunteers for the AZ TV Channel 7 “Stuff the Bus” campaign. Spanning 2 days, the efforts collected supplies and backpacks which were distributed to 6000 children in need across Maricopa and Yavapai counties, giving the students a strong start for the upcoming school year. Marleigh Murdoch, Franchise Marketing Consultant at Port of Subs states, “We believe in providing every child with the chance to succeed.” Well said Marleigh, we couldn’t agree more!
- A Fundraiser held by Port of Subs Store # 251, in Elko, Nevada aimed to give a local youth soccer team a leg up. This youth soccer team has a fantastic goal of traveling to Madrid, Spain to attend a world-renowned soccer clinic! The fundraiser captured support and attention from social media, radio and local campaigning, and was able to raise $500 on their own throughout the day. To amplify the success, Store #251 graciously decided to match the raised funds, doubling the total donation to $1000! With the assist from the community and Port of Subs Store #251, these up-and-coming athletes will continue to work hard and achieve their dreams!
