If you’re seeking financing, our team will guide you through the bank/loan process, providing necessary documentation and connecting you with trusted financial partners who specialize in franchise financing.

Once you’ve completed the due diligence process and are ready to take the next step, it’s time to sign your franchise agreement.

Slicing Fresh Since 1972 

As your neighborhood sandwich shop, Port of Subs has been bringing people together since 1972. Our story began when two brothers from New Jersey opened a modest submarine shop in Sparks, Nevada, known as the “Sub Shop”. Yet, it was John Larsen and his family who recognized the potential and gained full ownership in 1975. Determined to set themselves apart from imitators, they launched a community-wide contest to find a new name. After reviewing over 10,000 entries, the name “Port of Subs” emerged as the clear choice. nIn 1985, we embraced the franchise model to meet consumer demand.
 

Today, Port of Subs stands tall as a leading franchising company in the quick-service restaurant industry. In 2023, Port of Subs caught the attention of Area 15 Ventures, a distinguished investment firm led by Dave Liniger, the co-founder and former CEO of RE/MAX. Drawing from our rich legacy, core values, and rock-solid business model, Liniger and his team are bringing their franchise expertise to fuel accelerated growth and rapid expansion of the brand. As we ride the wave of success, we’ll bring the unique taste of Port of Subs to more neighborhoods than ever before.

Meet Your Team

Regional Developers

We’re thrilled to welcome Robert and Nikki La Grace as the newest Regional Developers, leading the charge across the greater Dallas area. With deep experience in finance, operations, and community involvement, the La Graces bring both business acumen and heart to their new role. Robert spent over two decades as a financial advisor, helping clients navigate their futures, and also has a background in banking and managing health clubs. Nikki, a former executive assistant with City Mortgage, later focused on raising their family and became a hands-on leader in the local school system — from supporting the band board to designing uniforms, always rooted in community service. Originally from California, Robert and Nikki have been longtime fans of Port of Subs. When the chance came to bring the brand to Dallas, they jumped at the opportunity: a wide-open territory, major growth potential, and a region hungry for something fresh. Their development plan includes 20 stores, starting with locations in Plano and Frisco, and hopes to open the first by year’s end. Nikki will lead daily operations, while Robert will focus on financial strategy. It’s a true family effort — their children are already lending a hand, and they’re building a strong support team from the ground up. What sets the La Graces apart is their deep-rooted passion for people. From schools and sports to cheer teams and band programs, they’re ready to become more than business owners — they’re here to be great neighbors. Please join us in congratulating Nikki and Robert on this exciting new chapter. We can't wait to watch them grow the Port of Subs family in one of the most dynamic markets in the country.
